My friend Arnoud took me on a road trip and we ended up in Rotterdam. It is the second largest city in Netherlands. The Rotterdam port is the largest in Europe and it used to be the busiest port in the world until Shanghai superseded it in 2004.
We took a ride up the Euromast to have a 360-degree view of the city. The photo shows a view of the iconic Erasmus Bridge of Rotterdam, a cable bridge linking the northern and southern halves of the city. It is also referred to as “The Swan” because of its asymmetrical design and white color. The design reflects the industrial character of Rotterdam which adds to the narrative of the city.
